How would you like to be part of the success of one of BC’s coolest street festivals? We are looking for volunteers to join the production team for Uptown Live!
Our event Ambassadors will be asked to be available for a variety of duties including welcoming guests, providing information and conducting survey’s among event patrons. You must be enthusiastic and provide great customer relations.
All artists performing on the main stages will check into our production area upon arrival. Volunteers will welcome artists, help them park, unload and get to the stage in which they will be performing.
Be part of the event team and get in the middle of the action! You will be assigned to one of the major zones or blocks and work with Event Staff on set-up and/or strike. The tasks include setting up fencing, tents, tables and chairs in order to get the site ready as well as assisting sponsors and exhibitors with their set-up.
Uptown Live will have a merchandise area in a high profile location on-site. The ‘Merch Tent’ will be set up to sell CD’s, t-shirts etc. on behalf of all the artists. Once bands finish performing, they will be asked to check in at the Merch tent in order to sign CD’s for fans.
Your duties include liaising with sponsors and ensuring that all their needs are met. You will meet and greet sponsors, interact with key management personnel and assist where necessary.
Once the streets in the area are barricaded and closed off at 6:00am, we will have volunteers at each event entry point. You will be responsible for opening the barricades to allow vehicles onto the site to drop off equipment and to set up their exhibitor spaces. This is an important responsibility that is key to the overall production plan.
